Mike Meilinger is the leader and visionary of Meilinger. He’s a Pinnacle Business Guide, a Certified Public Accountant, (CPA) and Certified Tax Coach. (CTC) He’s also a Certified Management Accountant, (CMA) Certified in Financial Forensics, (CFF) and Accredited in Business Valuation. (ABV) Mike has worked in public accounting since 1995 and he’s never failed a professional exam.

Mike Meilinger is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs, (AICPA) the Institute of Management Accountants, (IMA) the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, (NACVA) the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, (ACFE) and the Institute of Divorces Financial Analyst. (IDFA)

Mike Meilinger has over twenty (20) years of experience in strategic tax planning. He specializes in financial management solutions for business owners and successful individuals. His vision is to dramatically impact the lives of his customers, employees, and vendors. Mike is tremendously committed to lifelong learning and is always studying things he thinks can help his clients and his employees get to the next level. He also loves working out and staying healthy.

Penny Meilinger serves as our CFO. She assists clients in resolving various issues so that they can focus on other valuable areas of their business. She’s been working at Meilinger for over twenty years.

Penny met her husband, Mike Meilinger, in an Intermediate accounting class at USC-Upstate. She graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Mike graduated in 1993, and they were married in 1994.

Penny was born in Jonesville, South Carolina. She loves spending time with her family including her 5 children and 3 grandchildren. She also has a passion for animals and enjoys the outdoors, bird watching, and cooking with recipes from her collection of cookbooks.

Caryn Neal has more than 30 years of experience working with high-net-worth individuals and in the fields of fiduciary and pass-through taxation and has extensive experience working in estate taxation and planning.

She is a Notary Public for the State of South Carolina. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida Metropolitan University, is an IRS Enrolled Agent, and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor. (CEPA) She’s also involved with the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the South Carolina Association of Enrolled Agents. (SCAEA)

Caryn’s areas of expertise include high-net-worth individuals, pass-through entities, tax planning, CFO accounting, and estates and trusts. She grew up in New Jersey but has lived in Greenville, South Carolina for over 20 years. She has five children and is a huge supporter of the Clemson Tigers.

Travis Lively is a Litigation Services Manager and a financial analyst with Meilinger. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Greenville University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Travis is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. (NACVA)

Travis loves working with clients to improve their businesses and their lives. He’s often tasked with providing insight and guidance regarding budgeting, projections, KPI’s, and other complex modeling.

He was born in Southern Illinois but currently lives in Greenville with his wife and two children. Travis is a big fan of Gamecock football and St. Louis Cardinal baseball.

William Burroughs is Senior Chief Financial Officer, Tax & Services, at Meilinger. William is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who, along with having vast experience, has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from North Greenville University in South Carolina and a Master of Professional Accountancy (Taxation) degree from Clemson University.

Amanda Elliott is our driven and forward-thinking Business Advisory Manager. A graduate of Clemson University, Amanda has 20 years of customer service experience, with 15 of those years working directly with Small Business Owners and their teams. Her keen eye for detail and eight years of experience working with Meilinger have made her an invaluable asset. Amanda is well-versed in leading and guiding teams using her passion for client care to deliver impactful results. 

Amanda has been married for twelve years. In addition to her focus on Business Advisory, she spends her free time enjoying reading, music, and fostering rescue kittens.
